LaceSpace was invited to work on a pair of 1 of 1 custom Air Jordan 1s as a gift for the one and only Champagne Papi with the talented boys from BespokeIND . These are confirmed in hand with Drake and were gifted to him while he was performing his arena spectacular shows in Melbourne this November as organised by Nike, Sneaker Freaker and the Frontier Touring Agency who brought him out to Australia.
No detail has been left untouched on these shoes, and only the most luxury materials feature. We used our premium quality white lambskin leather laces with gold aglets to give a creamy white finish. The lambskin leather provides flexibility and suppleness and are the perfect companion to any premium sneaker, but most of all the Air Jordan 1.
The true pièce de résistance however are the gold OVO dubraes. These were handcrafted in Sydney, Australia out of solid 18-karat yellow gold. They were then laser etched under multiple runs to feature Drake's signature OVO owl head with deep contrasting cuts. To really give them a premium feel, VS diamonds were set into the eyes of the OVO owl, giving a cheeky glimmer to an already polished piece. These are the ultimate luxury one can have on a pair of shoes, and to celebrate them, we used a luxury polished wooden box with blue tassels to hold the pieces on a cream pillow to match the leather accents on the shoes. Along with this piece, spare dubraes were made in matte black and matte white reading "6 GOD" and "OVO" - why make the man choose?
The Air Jordan 1s were made of a combination of premium exotic leathers including calf and boar suede, and calf and buffalo leathers. All raked in the 1985 Air Jordan 1 shape for the sharpness of that toe, and with "6" punched into the toe box to represent the 6 God's upbringing in Toronto. A mix of reds, white, grey and off-white give these shoes the ultimate character. Stitched into the side is a maple leaf to celebrate Drake's Canadian heritage. On the tongue reads a "NIKE AIR" and a "DRAKE AIR" tongue tab in a rich gold, and on the inner reads 1 of 1, with OVO and BespokeIND insoles.

These shoes were wrapped in a gorgeous leather bag by Lyx Leather and put into a custom "DRAKE AIR" wooden box.
